About Montpelier Project

THE MONTPELIER PROJECT

The Montpelier Project is a proposed mixed-use complex on the corner of Montpelier Retreat and Kirksway in Salamanca. The proposal has been designed to complement the aesthetic of the Salamanca precinct and will significantly increase the activity to the area, introducing more opportunities for local businesses.

Plans support the vision of the Sullivans Cove Planning Scheme and include residential accommodation, serviced apartments, parking, health and wellness centre, activated street edges with shops and some cafe areas fronting a new pedestrian connection from Montpelier Retreat through to Pearce’s Lane.

Here are some endorsements from our supporters of the development and the benefits it will bring to Sullivans Cove.

Tasmanian International Arts Festival logo“The Montpelier Project will be a significant and vibrant addition to the Salamanca entertainment precinct and to Hobart City. The Montpelier Project will provide secure car parking facilities, cafes, restaurants and shops in the centre of town that will be another economic stimulus for our local and Tasmanian economies. Ten Days looks forward to the completion of the Montpelier Project which will provide access to a range of additional facilities that will support and compliment events like the Tasmanian International Arts Festival and Spiegeltent that are held in the heart of the waterfront.”
